On May 21, 2021, the open draughts tournament among people with disabilities in Ufa "Draughts and Mathematics - friends" was held at the Club–Museum "Koshkin Dom" UGOI "MIR".
This day our tournament was greeted by excellent, sunny weather, and the hot time for exam preparation began in schools, so, as expected, the most persistent fans of draughts sports came. Of the declared 3 categories: 8-12 years old, 13-17 years old, 18-65 years old, 5 boys and girls 13-17 years old from two correctional schools in Ufa, 7 people 18-65 years old, including the team of the draughts club "MIR" UGOI "MIR" participated.
All participants have been registered. The chief judge of the competition, international draughts master Mars Kimovich Fayzutdinov, briefly told the children about the application of mathematical knowledge in the game of checkers. For adults, before the start of the competition, mathematician Viktor Pavlenko showed 3 mathematical tricks.
We thank the teachers accompanying the teams from schools and boarding schools for their help in holding the competition.
Competition results.
Boys and girls aged 13-17:
- - first place Amir Gaziev, MIR draughts Club;
- - Danil Khaertdinov, Ufa Correctional Boarding School No. 13, took the second place.;
- - Egor Panfilov, Ufa Correctional School No. 120, took the third place.
Men and women 18-65 years old:
- - first place Khamitova Rosa, draughts club "MIR";
- - Azamat Zyabirov took the second place;
- - the third place is Gallyam Nail.
The winners in the individual competition were awarded with cups (for first places), medals, diplomas, and prizes.
The children received sweet treats.
Congratulations to the winners! A poem by Alexander Ivanovich Shoshin, a two-time winner of the All-Russian Draughts tournaments in 1898 and 1901, will inspire draughts fans to conquer new heights of draughts sports!
