On December 7, 2020, a Russian billiards tournament among people with disabilities was held in Ufa at the Olymp Billiard Club, as part of the celebration of the International Day of the Disabled (Stage 3).
Participants came from Ufa district organizations of the disabled, as well as from the cities of Beloretsk and Tuimazy, and the village of Kandra. There were a total of 29 participants in the competition. Everyone is happy, contented, dressed up, ready to compete for prizes.
Three categories were included in the tournament program:
- Competitions for people with disabilities with musculoskeletal disorders (PODA);
- Competitions for people with disabilities with other diseases (General);
- Women's competition — Pool-8.
Denis Anatolyevich Polishchuk, the chief referee of the tournament, greeted the participants. The competition began. For several hours there was a stubborn struggle for victory. During the break between games, the players were fed a delicious and hearty lunch, deliciously and carefully prepared by the chefs of the club. Athletes could also pass the time between games in the cozy recreation areas of the Olympus.
The seats were distributed as follows:
Men's POD, personal championship
- 1st place – Kayumov Mavlitzan (Leninskaya ROI Ufa)
- 2nd place – Ramil Shakirov (Tuimazy)
- 3rd place – Alexey Krotkov (Beloretsk)
Men, GENERAL, individual championship
- 1st place – Oleg Vyazovoy (BRO VOI "Opora")
- 2nd place – Sergey Ivanov (Beloretsk)
- 3rd place – Viktor Lagunov (Demskaya ROI Ufa)
POOL-8, women, individual championship
- 1st place – Olga Kochenkova (Kandry village)
- 2nd place – Filasupova Rikhona (Kalininskaya ROI Ufa)
- 3rd place – Khabibullina Ilvira (Kirovskaya ROI Ufa)
The winners of the tournament, who took the first places, took home the cups they had won. All the winners were also awarded medals and diplomas, prizes. The children got small sweet gifts.
This Russian Billiards tournament gave people the opportunity to meet, gather, get new impressions and joyful emotions after many months of isolation due to the epidemic. The participants were pleased, joyful and thanked for the organization of the tournament.
