On December 23, 2020, the Ufa Sports Training Center hosted the final fifth stage of an open sports event among people with disabilities, dedicated to the International Day of the Disabled. The following sports were included in the program of the event: sitting volleyball, arm wrestling, Russian bench press and kettlebell lifting.
In the final, two teams played sitting volleyball – the MIR disabled team and a team of students from the Bashkir Institute of Physical Culture. The winners were the students of BIFKa, who, thanks to intensive training with coach Yashina Elena Ivanovna, significantly improved their skills in the sitting volleyball game. Congratulations to the guys on their victory! The MIRA team took the second place.
After the registration and weighing of the participants in the weightlifting hall, the second part of the competition began. In the Russian bench press, the weight of the barbell is 40 kg for men and 20 kg for women. In kettlebell lifting, men lifted a kettlebell weighing 16 kg, women – 8 kg. The men had three weight categories – up to 65 kg, up to 85 kg and over 85 kg. The women competed in the same category. The athlete who made the most lifts of the projectile was recognized as the winner.
The winners in arm wrestling, Russian bench press and kettlebell lifting, each in their own weight category, were Marcel Mudarisov and Bayburin Fanis from Chishma village, Stanislav Bikbaev from Ufa district, and Irina Pushko from Meleuz among women. These strong athletes took home all the cups and left no chance for the rest of the participants. Stanislav Bikbaev did 150 barbell lifts, Fanis Bayburin – 85, Marcel Mudarisov – 64, Irina Pushko – 50. I would also like to mention Alexander Ermakov and Alik Sarvaleev, who took second and third place in Russian bench press and kettlebell lifting, respectively.
